Algerian court confirms that President Tebboune won a second term with 84.3% of the vote

Rhino: Agencies – Algeria’s Constitutional Court confirmed on Saturday that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune won a second term with 84.30 percent of the vote in elections held on September 7, state media reported.
The media added that the final turnout in the election was 46.10 percent.
The campaign of rival candidate Hassani Cherif Abdulla had earlier pointed to irregularities in the vote counting process.
The military-backed Tebboune faced little opposition from moderate Islamist Hassani Cherif or moderate secularist Youssef Ochich, both of whom ran with the blessing of Algeria’s powerbrokers.
Media outlets reported that Hassani Cherif received 9.56 percent of the vote, while Ochich received 6.14 percent.
