UK appoints Richard Crowder as special envoy to Sudan

Rhino: Agencies – The British government announced on Friday the appointment of Richard Crowder as head of its office in Sudan and special representative of the United Kingdom to Khartoum, succeeding Ambassador Gail Leaver.
The government said in a statement on its website that Crowder has been appointed head of the British office in Sudan and special representative of the United Kingdom in Sudan.
Crowder joined the Foreign Office in 1996 and held several positions, most recently deputy director of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in London, according to the statement.
