Iran denies reports of transferring missiles to Russia

Rhino: Agencies – Iranian state media on Monday quoted a senior commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards as denying reports that Iran had transferred missiles to Russia, raising concerns in the West that they could be used in the war with Ukraine.
“CNN.com” published the report. CNN. Last week, CNN and the Wall Street Journal reported, citing unidentified sources, that Iran had transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.
“No missiles have been sent to Russia and this claim is a kind of psychological warfare,” Brigadier General Fazlollah Nozdari, deputy commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, was quoted as saying by the Iranian Workers’ News Agency.
“Iran is not in favor of either side of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine,” he added.
The European Union on Monday described the information in the two media reports as credible.
“We are aware of credible information provided by allies about Iran’s transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia,” EU foreign affairs spokesman Peter Stano said in an email.
“We are examining the matter further with our member states, and if the arms transfer is confirmed, this would be a significant concrete escalation of Iran’s support for Russia’s aggressive and illegal war of aggression against Ukraine.”
