Sudan beats Niger by a goal in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Rhino: Agencies – Sudan’s first football team started its journey in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the finals of which will be held in Morocco, with a one-goal victory over its Nigerian counterpart.
The ‘Guardian Falcons’ won their first victory for the first round of the sixth group at the Juba Stadium in South Sudan.
Abubakar Issa of Grimsby Toulon scored six minutes into the second half to secure the win for the Sudanese side.
The two teams played a lackluster first half with no real danger to either goal, which ended in a goalless draw, before the second half began and the Sudanese team succeeded in taking the lead.
Sudan will host Angola in the next round, while Niger have a tough game against Ghana in the next round.

The qualifiers are being played with 48 teams divided into 12 groups with four teams in each group, with the top two teams from each group qualifying directly for the finals to be held in Morocco.
