Iranian Foreign Minister to his Italian counterpart: We do not seek to increase tension in the region

Rhino: Agencies – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi told his Italian counterpart Antonio Tiani that Tehran does not seek to increase tension in the Middle East.
He added that Iran’s response to the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran would be “decisive and calculated.”
Iran says Israel is behind the July 31 assassination of Haniyeh, which Araqchi described in comments carried by Iranian state media as “an unforgivable violation of Iran’s security and sovereignty.”
Israel has neither claimed nor denied responsibility for Haniyeh’s death in the Iranian capital.
“Iran does not seek to escalate tension,” Araqchi told his Italian counterpart Tayani over the phone, according to a statement about the call published by the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday. “However, it does not fear it.
He added that Iran’s response would be “decisive, calculated and precise,” according to the statement.
