Rhino: Agencies – South Sudan’s Merrikh Bentiu secured a valuable victory over Kenya’s Gourmahia in the first round of the preliminary round of the AFC Champions League 24/2025.
The match was played at the Juba International Stadium on Sunday. Al Merrikh represent South Sudan in the preliminary league, having won the domestic Premier League this year.
The winning goal for Al Merrikh Bentiu was scored by Saeed Mohamed Musa in the 67th minute of the second half. Despite Gourmahia’s attempts to equalize, the game ended with a scoreless draw for Bentiu.
Said Mohamed Moussa, who scored the goal, said he was happy to score his first goal in the AFC Champions League in front of the club’s fans in Juba.
