Sudanese Ministry of Health announces the spread of cholera epidemic

Rhino: Agencies – The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced on Saturday the spread of a cholera epidemic in the country, amid the worsening crises of displaced people.
Health Minister Haitham Ibrahim said on Saturday that the cholera epidemic is spreading in Sudan, due to environmental conditions and non-potable water in several areas.
He explained that Kassala and Gedaref states in eastern Sudan are the most affected by the epidemic, without mentioning the number of cases that have been recorded.
This year’s floods come amid the continued suffering of the Sudanese people as a result of the ongoing conflict between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has killed more than 18,800 people and displaced about 10 million others, according to the United Nations.
International and global appeals are increasing to save Sudan from the suffering of the war, which has pushed millions towards famine and death, as a result of food shortages caused by the fighting, which has spread to 12 states.
