El Fasher: Rhino – The Sudanese Relief Agency announced the start of its humanitarian operations in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state. The city witnessed the arrival of a high-level delegation from the agency, with the aim of assessing needs and providing humanitarian aid to those affected by the war in the state.
The delegation was headed by the executive director of the Sudanese agency, Abdul Rahman Ahmed Ismail, with the participation of the agency’s director in West Darfur state, Dhu al-Bayt Adam Yaqoub, and the agency’s director in East Darfur state, Jamal al-Zain Kabashi, along with a number of officials from the presidential office and state branches.
The visit aims to conduct field surveys to identify the needs of those affected by the war, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid in coordination with the peace government, and provide it to the residents of El Fasher and displaced persons residing in several locations around the city, given the limited resources necessary for basic living, according to a statement by the agency on Monday.
The statement said: “The visit aims to establish a permanent office for the Sudanese agency in North Darfur in the near future, which will contribute to activating and accelerating efforts to manage humanitarian operations and address the repercussions of the crisis resulting from the war in the state.”
The Sudanese agency appealed to humanitarian partners from local, regional, and international organizations to intensify efforts to relieve those affected in El Fasher and surrounding areas, where displaced persons face difficult humanitarian conditions characterized by a shortage of food, medicine, and shelter.
