RSF delegation arrives in Geneva and confirms its positive engagement with war cessation initiatives

Khartoum: Rhino – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced today, Tuesday, the arrival of its negotiating delegation to Geneva, in response to the US invitation to reach a nationwide cessation of hostilities, facilitate humanitarian access, and develop a strong monitoring and verification mechanism to ensure the implementation of any agreement reached.
The RSF said in a statement on Tuesday that the arrival of its delegation carries with it the desire and sincere will to put an end to the suffering of the people and promotes positive engagement with all regional and international initiatives to stop the war and achieve lasting peace.
“We look forward to constructive and fruitful talks that contribute to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to all those affected by the war, in addition to discussing effective mechanisms to enhance the protection of civilians. We hope that the delegation of the other party, the armed forces, has responded to the invitation with an independent opinion away from the dictates of the terrorist Islamic movement and the agenda of the “remnants of the old regime” in order to discuss the issues of the people looking for recovery and peace to establish and build a new state based on democracy, sustainable peace and equality,” the statement said.
The RSF expressed its respect and appreciation for the sincere international and regional efforts and endeavors to address the Sudanese crisis exacerbated by the war “ignited by the remnants of the old regime and their elements in the leadership of the armed forces. We affirm our principled commitment to the values of peace and dialogue.”
