Port Sudan revokes license of Al-Hadath and Al-Arabiya TV channel director for revealing Bashir’s whereabouts

Khartoum: Rhino – The Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism in the Port Sudan government has issued a decision to suspend the director of the Al-Hadath and Al-Arabiya channels and revoke her press license “in order to maintain professionalism and ensure that national security and the public interest are not jeopardized by the circulation of inaccurate and misleading information,” according to the ministry.

The ministry’s decision stated that the director of Al-Arabiya’s office, Lina Yaqoub, had committed serious and repeated professional violations during the period from December 24, 2024, until the date of the decision, “without taking into account previous violations.”

Al-Arabiya TV had revealed the extent of the luxury provided by the Port Sudan government to the ousted president. and confirmed that he was not in Kober Prison as many believed but had been living for years in a residential complex inside the Marwi Medical Base, accompanied by a number of prominent leaders of his regime, under close supervision, and in living conditions completely different from what the Sudanese public imagined.

After years of debate about whether he was in Kober Prison or being moved between hospitals, Al-Arabiya sources confirmed that Bashir is currently residing in a residential complex inside the Marwi Medical Base, far from the stereotypical image of prison life. He is accompanied by a number of prominent military leaders such as Bakri Hassan Saleh, Youssef Abdel Fattah, and Mohamed Al-Khanjar.

The channel revealed that Bashir’s life at his residence is characterized by a fixed daily routine, starting at dawn with a half-hour walk, before spending his time reading books and following the news. In the evening, he meets with his companions in group sessions.
