Bahrain participates in the meeting of mediators on the situation in Sudan in Djibouti

Rhino: Agencies – Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al-Turaifi, Head of the Arab and African Affairs Sector, within the framework of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s presidency of the 33rd session of the Arab Summit, participated in the ‘Meeting of Mediators on the situation in Sudan’, which was held in the capital ‘Djibouti’ on 25 and 26 July.

 Representatives from 32 countries and regional and international organizations, in cooperation with the League of Arab States, the African Union, the United Nations, the European Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), participated in the meeting to discuss international initiatives and efforts to achieve peace in Sudan.

In his speech, the Head of the Arab and African Affairs Sector referred to the results of the Bahrain Summit, held last May, where Arab countries emphasized the importance of solidarity with Sudan and their categorical rejection of any foreign interference in its internal affairs, as well as Sudan’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

He reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position on the need to adopt all diplomatic means to urge the Sudanese parties to reach a peaceful, comprehensive and sustainable solution. He called on the international community to support the Sudanese people and provide the necessary support to humanitarian organizations operating in Sudanese territories, pointing to the importance of supporting economic and infrastructure initiatives to rebuild Sudan and achieve lasting stability.
