Rhino: Agencies – ‘Ola al-Kurd’, pregnant in her ninth month, could not wait for the remaining days to give birth, and dream of the baby she would hold in her hands, and bring new life to the Gaza Strip during the war that killed more than 39,000 Palestinians and destroyed a large part of the Strip, but fate did not give her these few days.
Adnan al-Kurd, Ola’s father, said the family’s home was hit by an Israeli air attack in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip on 19 July. He added that Ola was killed when she fell from an upper floor of the house inhabited by women, children and the elderly after the explosion caused by the bombing, but miraculously, her infant child survived, as did her husband, who was hospitalized after the bombing.
The explosion, like many others, killed several members of the same family, a daily tragedy for Gaza families since Israel began its military campaign in Gaza in response to an attack by Hamas militants on 7 October last year.
