Houthi group: We fired several missiles at the Israeli city of Eilat

Rhino: Agencies – Yemen’s Houthi movement said it fired several missiles at the Israeli city of Eilat after Israel’s first announced strike targeting the Iran-aligned group the day before.

The Houthis have been firing rockets and drones at Israel and disrupting global trade through the Red Sea in retaliation for Israel’s assault on Gaza, destabilizing the Middle East as the war in the Palestinian enclave drags on for more than nine months.

Israel said it shot down a missile fired from Yemen on Sunday. Israel says it has been hit by 200 attacks from the Houthis since the start of the Gaza war and has intercepted many of them.

But a rare Houthi drone attack hit Tel Aviv on Friday, killing one person, prompting Israel to announce its first strikes on the group on Saturday. Local medics said the strikes by warplanes took place near the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, killing six people.

The Houthi movement, officially known as Ansarallah, said on Sunday that it would continue to attack Israel in response.

‘The confrontation with Israel will be open, with no borders and no red lines, and the group will not abide by any rules of engagement,’ spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam said in an interview with Qatar’s Al Jazeera TV. All sensitive facilities at all levels will be a target for the group.
