Khartoum: Rhino – For the second day in a row, Sudanese army planes continued to bomb civilians in the cities of Nyala, Kutum, Alkuma and Mazroub. On Sunday morning and night, airstrikes targeted populated areas, including the neighborhoods of Musa, Al Jir and Al Matar in Nyala, South Darfur, killing hundreds of civilians. On Monday morning, dozens of civilians were also killed in similar attacks on Kutum and Al Kuma in North Darfur.
In a statement, the RSF condemned the incident, adding: “The killers deliberately destroyed houses on the heads of their inhabitants, and hundreds of children, women and elderly people were killed and injured in a preliminary count, while counting operations are still ongoing”.
The statement said: “The repeated aggression against innocent citizens represents a challenge to international humanitarian law, and the selective targeting of civilians constitutes crimes of extermination against social components on ethnic and ethnic grounds, as there is no military objective that justifies the brutal crime of bombing residential neighborhoods.
The RSF renewed its call on the international community, human rights organizations and those concerned with humanitarian affairs to assume their responsibilities in addressing genocidal crimes against Sudanese peoples.
The statement continued: “Our forces, while declaring full solidarity with the victims of the aerial bombing, call on families, community leaders and human rights bodies to exercise their rights to prosecute the ‘Port Sudan generals’ for ordering the commission of heinous crimes against innocent people, and our forces confirm that they will continue to fight resolutely in defense of the rights of the marginalized members of our people, and will not relent until the liberation of the entire homeland and ending the power of the terrorist murder gang in Port Sudan and rebuilding Sudan on new and just foundations”.
