Zalingei: Rhino – The Regional Agent of the Sudanese Agency for Relief and Humanitarian Operations, Dr Abdelhamid Osman Saleh, said that the agency is the official alternative to the Voluntary and Humanitarian Work Commission in the area under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). During the first briefing meeting with international organizations working in Central Darfur state at the agency’s headquarters in Zalingei, he stressed that its role is coordination, control, cooperation and flexibility with international and national organizations and all humanitarian partners.

He stressed that the agency has nothing to do with military, political or ethnic work, but its goal is purely humanitarian, and it works in areas controlled by the Rapid Support, calling on organizations operating in the state to intensify efforts, pointing out that what has been done so far is below ambition and added: ‘Displaced people and those affected by the war still suffer the scourge of poverty and hunger every moment.’
