A delegation from RSF arrives in Geneva to discuss the delivery of humanitarian aid

Rhino: Agencies – A delegation presented by the Rapid Support Forces arrived at the European headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva today, Wednesday, to attend the sessions of the meeting called by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Sudan, “Ramtane Lamamra”, before the end of this week to discuss the humanitarian situation in the country and how to deliver the necessary aid to the affected people.

The composition of the delegation will be limited to the members of the delegation participating in the Jeddah platform, according to RSF sources who spoke to Radio Dabanga.

The army and RSF delegations received invitations from the UN to participate in the meeting, which “will focus on measures to be taken to ensure the distribution of humanitarian aid to all Sudanese populations in need, explore options to ensure the protection of civilians, and identify ways to advance specific humanitarian measures and protect civilians through a potential ceasefire.”

The Sudanese army delegation is expected to arrive tomorrow in Geneva and includes, in addition to representatives of the armed forces and military intelligence, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Intelligence Service, as well as the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner.
