Rhino: Agencies – One of England’s star players has confirmed that he is ready to start against the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 semi-final.

Speaking at a press conference today, left-back Luke Shaw said: “I think I’m ready to start, but that’s for Gareth Southgate to decide, even though I feel ready.”

After months of absence due to injury, the Manchester United center-back returned to action with a substitute appearance against Switzerland in the quarterfinals.

Shaw admitted the last four months had been difficult for him: “Initially I was expecting to come back sooner, but I had setbacks.

“I’m here now and it was great to get some minutes in the last game and hopefully I’ll get more in the next one.

Since the start of the tournament, the England manager has been forced to rely on Kieran Trippier at left-back, with winger Bukayo Saka also occasionally used in that position.
