Rhino: Agencies – a leader from the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (TAGADOM), Sharif Mohamed Osman, downplayed the importance of the statements made by Army Commander-in-Chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan in Kosti, not to negotiate with TAGADOM and what he called the Rapid Support Arms, and that there is no way for them to return to power again.
In an interview with Radio Dabanga, Sharif said that Burhan’s statements are ‘of no value.’ He added: ‘Experience confirms this, after the dispersal of the General Command sit-in, Burhan spoke clearly in reference to the FFC and said that this is a small group, and he will not negotiate with it.’ As soon as the people imposed their will through the June 30 million, Burhan returned to negotiate with civilian and democratic forces. After the coup of 25 October, he pledged not to sit down with the democratic forces, but returned and negotiated with them, and signed the Framework Agreement, so experience has proven that Al-Burhan is throwing his words around, and does not have a clear position or vision for the future of Sudan.)
He continued: ‘As for TAGADOM, it has a political project committed to stopping the war and protecting civilians and their safety, and it will continue to work towards achieving it as long as it is a sustainable peace project for the stability of Sudan, and we will not be deterred by any side conversations from moving forward with this project.’
