Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo
RSF: Biased statements against us are unfair and reward those who reject peace
Nyala: Rhino – The Rapid Support Forces said that the war imposed on Sudan by extremist Islamic groups is not a passing event, but rather an extension of the wars of the old state, whose institutions, led by the so-called army, stood against the interests and future of the Sudanese people, according to a statement issued by the Rapid Support Forces on Thursday.
The Rapid Support Forces said in a statement on Thursday that the only way to end this war is to enter into a genuine peace process that addresses the roots of the crisis and rebuilds the state on new foundations.
The statement said: “The history of the so-called army in Sudan, especially after the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrated and took control of it, has led to brutal practices and racial discrimination in South Sudan, where two million citizens were killed, in the Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile, which witnessed systematic genocide, and in Darfur since 2003, which led to the killing of more than 300,000 Sudanese citizens, resulting in the issuance of international arrest warrants against its leaders.”
The statement added: “The threat posed by the corrupt army and the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood movement did not stop within Sudan’s borders, but extended to threaten regional and international peace and security when it became involved in harboring terrorist groups that bombed the US embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, and the USS Cole in Aden, leading to Sudan being classified as a state sponsor of terrorism under their control. This did not stop at ancient history, but has continued to the present day.”
It continued: “Recognizing these facts is essential for anyone who leads or participates in political initiatives, so that they are better able to lead comprehensive, just, and genuine peace efforts that lead to stability in Sudan and its regional and international surroundings.”
The Rapid Support Forces expressed regret over what it described as “biased” statements against it, considering them unfair and “rewarding those who reject peace,” which will contribute to prolonging the conflict.
It continued: “The road to peace passes through recognizing the facts on the ground and supporting efforts for a just and comprehensive solution.”
The statement added: “These biased positions, which are based on misleading or single-source information, are in fact aimed at the Quartet initiative and the efforts of President Trump and the US administration to support the peace process in Sudan, rather than detracting from the positions and commitments of the Rapid Support Forces, which have consistently engaged positively with efforts to end the war in Sudan and establish regional and international security.”
He added: “For this reason, we emphasize and clarify the following:
(*) The practical experience of this war clearly reflects that the party that deserves to be classified and condemned is the ‘Islamic Movement’ and its army, not our forces, which are fighting in defense of freedom, justice, and equality for the Sudanese people and refuse to allow Sudan to be a hotbed of terrorism and a haven for corruption.
(*) The party that rejected the initiatives to cease fighting and refrained from participating in them is the army belonging to the terrorist Islamic Movement, which rejected all international calls, including the Quartet initiative and the humanitarian truce project, and declared this publicly and before witnesses. Meanwhile, our forces responded and announced their agreement in an official statement and submitted their response to the truce proposal on November 9, 2025, but have not yet received a response from the American side. Where is the other party and where is its response?
(*) The Rapid Support Forces recognize the importance of the humanitarian truce, not only as the beginning of a comprehensive peace process, but also as a means of addressing the humanitarian disaster left behind by the war. From the outset, our forces have been committed to responding positively to the international quartet’s initiative, motivated purely by patriotism and a deep belief in the need to end the war. Therefore, we do not accept any attempts to make us a scapegoat to cover up the Islamic Movement’s army’s rejection of the truce, which has stepped up its recruitment and mobilization of civilians under the name of popular resistance.
He emphasized through his so-called foreign minister that he does not recognize the Quartet countries because they do not have a mandate from the Security Council, according to his claim. So what was his reward?
(*) The Rapid Support Forces reiterate that they do not receive any support from any external party and that the party that must be stopped from arming itself is the “Islamic Movement” and its army and supporters, including the global organization “Muslim Brotherhood” and the interventions of some regional parties, foremost among them Iran and the Houthis.
(*) The party that must be held accountable is the terrorist army that used chemical weapons against Sudanese civilians, as testified by the United States, and bombed innocent citizens with drones and barrel bombs, causing thousands of casualties, not our forces. These crimes have been documented and require an independent investigation and genuine accountability.
(*) The fact that cannot be overlooked or ignored is that the allegations of violations in El Fasher are not systematic and that our forces, on their own initiative, formed transparent committees of inquiry into the allegations of violations in El Fasher and arrested a number of individuals suspected of committing crimes against civilians. A committee was also formed to remove landmines and provide humanitarian aid, and humanitarian organizations were invited to provide relief to citizens.
Humanitarian corridors were opened for civilians who did not wish to remain in the city. and a humanitarian committee. Humanitarian organizations were invited to provide relief to citizens, and humanitarian corridors were opened for civilians who did not wish to remain in the city, while those who wished to remain were given the freedom to choose.
(*) We condemn the double standards pursued by some international parties and call on the international community, regional bodies, and human rights organizations to:
A. Maintain neutrality and rely on multiple and reliable sources before issuing judgments or statements.
B. Not to be swayed by false claims aimed at misleading public opinion and distorting the facts.
C. Conducting an urgent and independent investigation into documented crimes committed by the army against civilians, including the crime of starting a war, and punishing the perpetrators regardless of their affiliations.
The Rapid Support Forces concluded their statement by saying: “These biased positions are aimed at the Quartet initiative and the efforts of President Trump and the US administration to support the peace process in Sudan, which we greatly appreciate, and we affirm our continued positive engagement with them in order to bring an end to the war in Sudan and establish regional and international security. We affirm that our forces will continue their mission to dismantle institutions of injustice, combat terrorism, and complete the project of building Sudan on solid foundations of justice, equality, and good governance.”
