Kassala: Rhino – The General Court in Kassala, headed by Judge Ibrahim Abdul Maarouf, issued a decision on Wednesday to sentence K.A.A. to death under Articles 50 and 51 of the Criminal Code of 1991, on charges of collaborating with the RSF. The court said that the decision came based on the testimonies of witnesses, who said that she was working for the RSF. Executions of civilians accused of collaborating with the RSF have increased in areas controlled by the army, especially in Gedaref, River Nile and Northern states, since last June. Last week, the Darfur Lawyers Association revealed that there are more than one hundred and fifty people arrested and detained during random searches and arrests in the cities of Port Sudan, Atbara, Shendi and Dongla. After spending several months in detention, the detainees are transferred to criminal prosecutions, where they are charged with crimes against the state, including lawyers who volunteer and provide legal aid, according to the association.
