Rhino:Agencies – Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana expressed confidence in the players’ ability to absorb the plans of Robin Amorim, the Red Devils’ new manager.
United management rushed to sign Sporting Lisbon coach Amorim last week, taking over from Dutchman Eric ten Hagge, who was unanimously sacked due to poor results at the start of his third season with the club.
Amorim bid farewell to Sporting Lisbon on a high note, having led the team to a 4-1 victory over Manchester City on Tuesday in the Champions League.
“I followed yesterday’s game, they had a great victory, they played in a different way but Manchester United players are able to absorb any plan, so it won’t be an issue for us,” said Onana, in statements highlighted by the British News Agency.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper spoke about former Manchester United manager Ten Hagee, emphasizing:“I was sad to see him go, but the club’s management has to make a decision and the players are committed to it.”
Onana continued:“Competing at a high level is not easy, unfortunately the coach paid the price, we did our best, we worked hard, we worked hard, but we didn’t succeed.”
