British Foreign Office Discusses Sudan’s Future in a Closed-Door Meeting with Political Actors

Rhino: Follow-up – The British Foreign Office is organizing a closed-door meeting at the “Walton Park” headquarters in the British county of Sussex, running from Wednesday through Friday, July 24, 2026, to discuss Sudan’s future and ways to end the conflict. The event has been described by official British sources as a “discreet” meeting and has not been included in the usual public schedule for the Wilton Park platform.

The meeting will be attended by leaders from the “Tasis” coalition, led by Nasr al-Din Abdul Bari, alongside an official delegation from the United Arab Emirates, representatives from Gulf states, and Sudanese academics and analysts, while the Port Sudan government and the Sudanese military leadership were excluded from the list of invitees.

Sources at the British Foreign Office justified the move to media outlets such as Middle East Eye, stating that it aims to “bring together political actors from across the spectrum” to promote dialogue and explore possible options to rescue Sudan from the cycle of ongoing conflict.
