Port Sudan government announces severing diplomatic relations with the UAE

Khartoum: Rhino – The Security and Defense Council of the Port Sudan government announced on Tuesday the severance of diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates and the withdrawal of the Sudanese embassy and consulate general from its territory, after accusing it of aggression against Sudan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and the security of its citizens, through a local agent, the “Rapid Support Forces and its political back,” according to a statement by the council.

The council said in a statement that the UAE escalated its support and harnessed more of its capabilities to supply the RSF with advanced strategic weapons. The UAE has been targeting vital and service facilities in the country, “which threatens regional and international security, especially the security of the Red Sea,” according to the statement.
The Security and Defense Council of the Port Sudan government announced that it reserves the right to respond to the aggression by all means to preserve the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to ensure the protection of civilians and the continued delivery of humanitarian aid.
