US President Donald Trump posted his first tweet on the Sudanese issue, following his statement on the dialogue between him and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who explained the issue to him in 30 minutes.

Trump said in his tweet posted on Truth Social early Thursday: “Horrific atrocities are taking place in Sudan. It has become the most violent place on earth, as well as the greatest humanitarian crisis ever. There is an urgent need for food, doctors, and everything else.

Arab leaders from around the world, especially the respected Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, who recently left the United States, have asked me to use the power and influence of the presidency to put an immediate end to what is happening in Sudan.”

Trump continued: “It is a great civilization and culture, and unfortunately it has deteriorated, but it can be repaired through cooperation and coordination with countries, including those in the region with enormous wealth, that want to see that happen.

We will work with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and other partners in the Middle East to put an end to these atrocities and, at the same time, bring stability to Sudan. Thank you for your interest in this matter. God bless the world!”

Trump said during a US-Saudi investment conference in Washington, DC, that the Saudi crown prince wanted him to do “something very powerful with respect to Sudan,” adding that “it was not in my plans to get involved in that.” He continued, “I thought it was crazy and out of control.”

The US president added, “But I see how important it is to you and to many of your friends in this room. Sudan—we’re going to get started on it”.
