Human Rights Observatory Calls on Beni Halba and Al-Salamat Tribes to Let Reason Prevail

Khartoum: Rhino – The Sudanese National Human Rights Observatory expressed grave concern over the renewed violence and tribal fighting between the Salamat and Bani Halba tribes in South Darfur State, as well as the accompanying escalation of clashes and the loss of innocent civilian lives, alongside displacement and the deterioration of humanitarian and security conditions in the affected areas.

The Observatory called on all parties to immediately cease hostilities and prioritize wisdom and dialogue and appealed to local and community leaders and relevant authorities to intervene urgently to contain the crisis, protect civilians, and ensure respect for human rights, thereby helping to prevent further loss of life and consolidate social peace and coexistence among local communities.
