On Tuesday evening, US President Donald Trump presented Arab and Muslim leaders with a US plan for the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to Israeli genocide for nearly two years, during a summit meeting in New York City on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting was attended by leaders and high-level officials from countries including Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan, and Pakistan, according to a live television broadcast. At the meeting, Trump presented a US plan to end the war in Gaza and the future of the Palestinian sector. As he left the meeting venue, Trump said: “My meeting with Arab and Muslim leaders on Gaza was great,” without elaborating.

At the beginning of the meeting, Trump said that this meeting was “very important to end the war in Gaza.” He explained that the participants in the meeting would discuss the possibility of ending the war in Gaza and recovering Israeli “hostages” held in the Palestinian territory.

Trump added that “this is the most important meeting I am holding today… I have held 32 meetings in this place.” He added: “But this is very important to me, because we are going to end something that should not have happened,” without giving details.

During the meeting, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said, “The situation in Gaza is bad, and we are here to do everything we can to end the war and return the hostages.”
